Affordable Charters Fishing Report 5-25-09

May 25th, 2009 by CCCB Press

Inshore Virginia mullet, speckled trout bite has picked up a little bit, red drum, black drum, blues, lots of croaker, & shark.

In the surf catching a few black drum & small red drum, a few Virginia mullet, small croaker, some bluefish, & small flounder.

On the piers Spanish mackerel, a few bonito, bluefish, Virginia mullet, flounder, black drum, & shark.

Offshore on the bottom snapper, grouper, beeliners, black bass, grunt, & shark.

Fishing tip of the week: The wind has finally let up enough where we were able to get out to the mouth of the Cape Fear & fish for Virginia mullet. But the croaker are so thick it’s hard to get past them to see what else is there. Hopefully the croaker will move out soon & we’ll have better catches of Virginia mullet. Keep fishing & stay safe.
