The fishing has been great! The spanish are on the beach in huge numbers. Around the inlets and running all up and down the beach. Fish 20 to 25 feet of water and look for birds, jumping fish and bait! Kings have been good in the 14 to 25 mile range no real big fish [...] .. Started out for day #2 and as usual the weatherman was not even close (must be nice to have a job and never be right). We did manage to make it all the way out and it was reasonable with NE 10 to 14mph. The fish were chewing we had a triple hook up and a couple of doubles. Andrew caught a nice 50 lber. Then the wind started at 20 plus mph and rain. Decided we would work our way inshore and try some grouper and AJs around the wrecks. Started at 30 miles but the AJs didn’t.. Hi folks, Capt. David here with this weeks outdoors report. The fish are biting and hunting season is coming in! Redfish are everywhere in the sound and Flounder are too! Last week I was catching reds on a dock along the waterway and caught a 5.47 lb flounder and a 4.13 lb flounder off the same dock as the reds. Just goes to show you that predator fish like the same spots.
Offshore the fish are biting from the beach on out,you just have to decide what you want to fish for! Grouper and other bottom fish are on the.. (Read More)- Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 8/27/09 GETTING FIRED UP FOR FALL FISHING!!! - Posted to Seahawk Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
The inshore fishing has been good the past couple of weeks and should be getting better as the fall fishing season is just around the corner. The lower Cape Fear is teaming with bait {mullet minnows and shrimp} and the redfish, flounder, and trout are coming into this area to feed. I have actually seen reds and flounder coming a foot out of the water and crashing bait.
The redfish bite has been excellent lately on live baits and artificials. I have fished some of the largest schools of reds we have seen all summer. The reds are schooled up.. (Read More)- Speckle Trout - Posted to Cape Fear Guide Fishing Report by CCCB Press

The fishing is really starting to take off. We’ve had nice catches of over slot Red Fish, big Blues, huge Sharks and starting to see some really nice Speckled Trout. The Flounder bite is still going strong with some of these fish ranging from 2.5 to 9.5 lbs this past week. Now that we have some nice Finger Mullet around we should start seeing some good numbers and sizes of these fish. Right off shore about 2 miles we have been catching Spanish Mackerel in the 3 and 4 pound range, they have been a blast to sight cast to. .. Hello Folks, I hope everybody is enjoying the summer so far. Fishing for the most part has been very good this year for me and my charters. We are starting to see more people on the water, in the last couple of weeks. Which I guess is a good thing, “tip”: if you want to beat the crowds; go earlier! To the fishing report!
We’ve had some good Speckled trout, Redfish and Flounder fishing lately south of Wrightsville beach. The trout are hitting grubs and shrimp pattern lures. The grubs that are working well are Saltwater assassin sea shad pattern. .. WOW!!! is the only word to describe the fishing between this report and the last one. The last report was hard to beat and this report will do just that……with ease!
Offshore: The king mackerel, cobia and mahi are biting well on the live menhaden that seem to be everywhere! The amberjack bite has slowed a bit. This might be a good thing because I dont know how much more amberjack my reel drags could take!
Inshore: The redfish are biting well around the docks and these are upper and over slot fish. These fish are nailing the huge live menhaden.. (Read More)- Hot Fishing Around Wrightsville Beach - Posted to Rod-Man Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
Hi Folks,
Fishing has been good to excellent WHEN THE WIND HASN’T BLOWN. There have been few of those calm days, but hopefully that will change and we can get into a good rhythm.
Now here’s my report:
Inshore: Water temps have risen to around 70 and the spring weed is just about gone. Live baits are showing up. All this means it’s time for the reds and flounder to turn on and that is what is happening inshore right now. Best bait is live menhaden fished on a carolina rig.
Near Shore: Near shore fishing.. (Read More)- Cape Fear River Fishing - Posted to Lookout Charters Fishing Reports by Capt. Mike Dennis

The beautiful thing about the Carolina coast, is that there is always a fish that you can catch. Right now, it is grouper time. Along with Grouper, there are snapper, Black Sea Bass, and Grunts to be caught. IF you find the fish it can be non-stop action all day. The best thing about it is that all of those fish also make great table fare. The Striped Bass are also biting well this time of the year, and they can provide a fun, hard fight. Book your summer trips now, and gurantee your spot.

The fishing has been good and thankfully I have been busy. I want to thank all of my repeat clients for coming down in the fall and over the Holidays to enjoying the great fall/winter fishing. Winter fishing has arrived with speckled trout, striped bass, and red drum. Most of the fish have been caught on artificial lures and live bait. Everyone has enjoyed the new trolling motor, It allows us to cover lots of ground and makes lure fishing a blast.

Surf fishing in duck really turned on over the past two days. Black drum, puppy drum, bluefish, sea mullet, and trout have all made a great showing. Jay Bender reported catching 18 speckled trout last night behind the Hampton Inn, and catching 25 behind Sharky’s this morning. The Sea Hag with Captain Frank McCargo fished a half day trip this morning and caught a limit of nice sized king mackerel, a nice jack, and a black tip shark. Frank was fishing at the AR145. It’s time for Spanish Mackerel and I’m here to tell you there are plenty out there. The piers are getting their share of Spanish. The size is still a little small. The biggest I have heard of was around one and a half pounds. Five to ten miles out there are plenty of mid-size King Mackerel around the fifteen-pound range. On the bottom, Black Bass and Snapper are really starting to bite. If you run to the Gulf Stream, well, that’s another story. Plenty of Tuna and Wahoo and some are trophy size. The surf has been producing some.. (Read More)- - Posted to Hoo Dini Charters Fishing Reports by
